$1,600 for Home Schoolers!  How?

If you are considering or if you are currently involved with a homeschooling funding program that claims to be “Aligned”, “Personalized”, “Individualized”, etc., please take note of any additional funding that your school program will provide to you. This funding may come in the form of reimbursement, but more than likely, you will receive this additional financial benefit and support indirectly from the school, which will purchase the resources for you on your behalf from an “approved vendor”. If your school program offers to buy, on your behalf, any of the following resources:

  1. music lessons
  2. tutoring
  3. computer/technology
  4. sports,

then you are likely dealing with a school program that is “creatively” funding and coding your student.

Questions to ask yourself:

  • •Are you having to jump through many “paperwork hoops” in order to access your extra funding?
  • •Do you have to send weekly worksheets or other completed student assignments to your “facilitator” or teacher?
  • Were you told that you would be homeschooling but also “Aligned” to Alberta Ed? Do you know that the term, “Aligned”, is just a marketing term and that no program within Alberta Education exists by the name, “Aligned” (“Individualized Learning”, “Personalized Learning”, etc. are also just marketing terms)?
  • Have you ever wondered where the extra money, that the school uses to pay for your child’s private music lessons, tutoring, etc, is coming from? Do you think that your local physical-campus school would or could pay for your child’s private piano lessons?
