Confirmation Package

[Music]

Hello, my name is Natasha Hicks, and I am the assistant director here at THEE Homeschooling, and I just want to talk to you today a little bit about your confirmation letter. This letter is something you should receive within a few days of you being accepted to our program, and it has some very good information on it, but it also has some information that we’d kind of like you to double-check as well. It will have all of your student information: name, address, phone number, all that stuff. If there’s anything that you notice on there that isn’t correct, we try our best to follow the information that you’ve given us. Unfortunately, sometimes a name will get spelled incorrectly, or an email address isn’t correct, or your mailing address is your previous mailing address if you’ve updated it and for some reason it hasn’t gone into our system. Please let us know about that information. I believe at the bottom of the letter, we do ask that you let us know if there are changes that need to be made. Just email us at [email protected]—nice and simple—or you can give us a call. Either way works, but if you give us an email, then we have it in writing as well so that we can transfer it into the student document.

Another thing with our confirmation letter, it is actually a bit of a valued document for you because you can use it for discounts at some places. I don’t know all of the places off the top of my head, but I do know places in Drumheller, some museums—I’m not sure about Telus World of Science—but I know there are lots of places that will give a student discount with your proof of enrollment. That would be your proof of enrollment for all of your students. I’m pretty sure most places actually don’t require you to have a printed copy either; you can just use your emailed copy. So you will get a PDF for each one of your children that you’ve enrolled. If you just keep that on your phone or whatever you’re going to be taking with you to your different activities, I know even sometimes skiing lessons or different ski clubs will give a discount for homeschool students, or I’m not sure, maybe just students in general, but it is nice to have that discount available if you have that document on your phone.

The other thing that we have on there is a link to our website for the different forms that you might need throughout the school year. Probably the most important one is our reimbursement form, but also, for the start of the year, for returning families, we also have an early purchase agreement so that you can access your funding via purchase order kind of in August and September before the funding starts to go out. And then we also have the direct deposit form. I know that sometimes a lot of you have uploaded that in your registration form, which is lovely as well, but if you didn’t have the information handy or just didn’t think about it or forgot, you can go back later and you can fill out that form and email that to us. I believe that one the form does say on it to email it to [email protected], but really, you can email that to any of us in the office and we will take care of it. So there’s a link to those things on our website, so if you’re ever needing it again, you know where to find it.

That is kind of the brief rundown. It also will have your facilitator’s information and that stuff on there for you, but the more important things are just to keep it on hand in case you need it for a discount, and then it has a link to all of the important forms you might need, like I say, namely that reimbursement form that you’ll be submitting to us a couple of times during the school year. I think that’s everything. So thank you for choosing THEE.
