Hi, my name is Natasha Hicks, and I am the assistant director here at THEE. Today I’m going to talk to you about how to submit your internet cost for reimbursement. I’ll start off with our reimbursement form. It’s pretty simple and self-explanatory how to fill it out; however, if you do have any questions, we do have a video on that so you can watch that.
But the big thing in regards to the internet is we just need one line item on your reimbursement form that just says your internet provider, you’ve purchased internet, etc., that kind of thing. We don’t need 12, we don’t need 12 entries on a reimbursement form, and we also don’t need 12 invoices from your internet company. We just need one. So, just kind of briefly in regards to how to submit that, the big thing is we need to see the internet cost, the GST cost, as well as your like, where the internet is being billed for, so that will have your address or whatever on there.
Some places have that all on the front page, which is great, but I guess the point with that is if you do have a bill that kind of breaks things up differently and you’re not sure what to send us, I just would say err on the side of caution and send us the full bill so that we have all of that information because we just need to be able to see the full internet that was paid as well as the GST and your information. We all know GST is paid on internet, but some bills for some reason break it out funny, so the GST is on a separate page, so as long as it shows all of those things, that is good.
So then on your bill, or on the reimbursement form, kind of doesn’t matter where you choose, just calculate the cost. So that is your total cost including the GST times 12 divided by 2, and that gives us the amount that we can reimburse you for, because Alberta Education allows us to reimburse 50% of the full cost for the full year. So, yeah, just your total internet cost plus the GST times 12 divided by 2, and that’s the amount you can get reimbursed for.
